Safe Routes to School
Statewide, Massachusetts
Everyone Benefits from Safer Routes to School
Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is an approach that promotes walking and bicycling to school through infrastructure improvements, enforcement, tools, safety education, and incentives to encourage walking and bicycling to school (U.S. Department of Transportation, https://www.transportation.gov/mission/health/Safe-Routes-to-School-Programs).
Howard Stein Hudson is actively engaged in helping communities navigate the process of creating safer routes to schools. Our approach includes evaluating your current infrastructure and recommending improvements that can work within your budget, whatever it is. We engage with community leaders to ensure everyone involved in on board with the recommended improvements. We educate students, crossing guards, bus drivers and monitors, and school staff on the new safer routes to school to ensure success!
