Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 3A

HSH is working with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to reconstruct and enhance the roadway to improve conditions for multimodal travel and to ensure that the roadway is serviceable for many years to come. The purpose of this project is to provide improvements to safety, pedestrian and bicycle user accommodations, pavement condition, and traffic control devices along Route 3A. Throughout the project, HSH coordinated with multiple stakeholders, including the Towns of Billerica and Burlington, the Lowell Regional Transit Authority (LRTA), the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), and residents and commuters who will be impacted by the project. HSH performed extensive traffic studies to minimize the travel time impact to the corridor as that was identified as a primary concern.
