Mystic River Road Safety and Access Improvement Project

HSH assisted the City with the development of safety and access improvements along Mystic River Road between Fairfield Street and Harvard Avenue. The improvements included reducing the existing roadway width to provide a new sidewalk and pick-up/drop-off lane for the West Medford Community Center (WMCC), a new mid-block crossing and speed humps on Mystic River Road to provide access between the WMCC and the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR’s) Dugger Park, a new sidewalk, and a new parking-protected contra-flow bicycle lane along the southern section of Mystic River Road. ADA upgrades and crosswalk improvements were also implemented at the Fairfield Street project limit.
