I-90/Hynes Tunnel Ceiling Removal Project, Boston
Massachusetts Convention Center Authority
HSH drew on expertise from our Construction Services group to assist the MCCA, J.F. White Contracting Co., and Barletta Engineering and Heavy Division with managing and mitigating the transportation related aspects of this large-scale roadway relocation project. More than 18 months of analysis, planning design, and coordination culminated in the successful implementation of a Temporary Traffic Control Plan (TTCP) that utilized median crossovers to facilitate weekend closures in the heart of downtown Boston. HSH coordinated with City agencies to expedite permitting and gain consensus on TTCP’s during the four-weekend closures for the ceiling removal. The project was successfully completed in early 2015 and received a National Recognition Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
