Moving Together 2015: Another Successful Conference
November 18, 2015
HSH’s own Keri Pyke, P.E., PTOE, Mark Gravallese, Joseph SanClemente, P.E., AICP, Pete Stidman, and others attended the Moving Together Conference at the Park Plaza Hotel in early November. Transportation enthusiasts joined together to discuss planning, public health, bicycle and pedestrian, transit, and active transportation issues. Stephanie Pollock, MassDOT Secretary and CEO, announced two initiatives to encourage active transportation – the Complete Streets Funding Program, which will provide $12.5 million in grants to help communities across the state to invest in “Complete Streets” infrastructure that will support walking, cycling and transit as alternative modes to driving; and a Separated Bike Lane Planning and Design Guide, which will provide planners, engineers, and others with tools to create facilities that will appeal to a broad range of potential bicyclists.
