HSH to begin work with the New Jersey Sustainability Consortium

October 26, 2012

HSH is assisting the North Jersey Sustainable Communities Consortium in organizing a series of public workshops this October to promote the upcoming Local Demonstration Program (LDP) in the 13-county area that makes up northern New Jersey. The LDP will include several demonstration projects funded, in part, by a $5 million award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant. The Consortium is focusing on county and municipal planners, economic development directors, and other civic leaders to attend the workshops in order to learn more about the program and develop strong ideas about the type of LDP projects that are eligible to be funded. Following these workshops, local and county officials will submit proposals to be selected for study by New Jersey Transit and other Consortium members (which include government agencies, higher education institutions, and civic/planning organizations).
