HSH Joins PARK(ing) Day 2012

October 26, 2012

parkingday-talkingOn September 21, 2012, Howard/Stein-Hudson joined thousands around the globe to celebrate PARK(ing) Day, an annual event where groups of citizens, artists, designers and planners work together to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. The project was started in 2005 by Rebar, an art/design studio in San Francisco.

Howard/Stein-Hudson’s PARK(ing) Day installation was a functional—though tongue-in-cheek—public meeting focused on the future of our parking space. We asked passersby to tell us how they thought our parking space should be used. This word cloud captures the public’s response, with the most frequently suggested uses represented by the largest words.
