HSH Presents at the 2013 TransAction Conference

Arnold Bloch, Principal of HSH, moderated two sessions on April 19 at the TransAction 2013 conference in New Jersey, an annual 3-day event that for nearly 40 years has brought together around 1000 public and private sector representatives to discuss a host of transportation issues. Dr. Bloch’s two sessions were quite diverse:

  • He moderated a wide-ranging panel discussion about the latest trends in the Design-Build Procurement Process as it pertains to transportation projects. The panel included:
    • Glen Kartalis of AECOM for design perspective
    • Mike Fischer of Kiewit from the construction industry
    • Chris Stokes of Stokes Creative Group for community involvement
  • He also moderated a session on Context-Based Street Design Standards. The panel included:
    • Arnie presented material prepared by Keri Pyke and Ted Brovitz of HSH
    • Mike DiGeronimo of LRK, Inc. in Princeton, NJ
    • Arthur Chew from Ocean City, NJ
    • Tiffany Robinson of The RBA Group in Morristown, NJ

Ryan Walsh, AICP, NJ PP and Associate of HSH also moderated a session on April 19 at the TransAction 2013 conference. Ryan’s session titled, Support of Safe Pedestrian Environments in New Jersey included discussions on innovative and successful policies and practices undertaken in New Jersey and throughout the country to support safe pedestrian activity. The panel also included:

  • Elizabeth Thompson, AICP, LEED GA, Principal Planner, NJTPA
  • Kevin S. Murphy, Principal Transportation Planner, DVRPC
  • Susan Poliwka, AICP, LEED AP, Mobility and Planning Division Head, Department of Transportation and Parking, City of Hoboken
