DALLAS AREA RAPID TRANSIT STRATEGIC EXECUTIVE CONSULTING SERVICES
HSH worked with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) and its Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on the second phase of its strategic planning initiative. Initially, the firm worked with the ELT essentially DART’s top-level executives and others to identify key issues within DART that needed to be addressed as part of the larger strategic planning initiative. HSH staff conducted approximately 20 face-to-face interviews with both the ELT and the Executive Management Team (or EMT, those managers at the next level down from the ELT) to gather their collective views on DART’s strategic goals and needs. They also collated and reported the major findings of the interviews and helped guide DART to begin setting priorities for action in the next phase of strategic planning. HSH also planned and facilitated an interactive one-day retreat to help DART’s leaders develop a consolidated vision, an integrated set of goals, objectives, and performance measures, and a definition of roles and responsibilities for the senior management team. Other assignments included developing an approach to reviewing and revising DART’s organizational structure for alignment with agency priorities. Additionally, Kathy Stein planned and facilitated a three-month process to guide the EMT through the strategic planning process. This included three half-day working sessions with the DART leadership team, building the foundations of the agency’s revised strategic plan.
