Boston Transportation Department
As part of a consultant team, HSH is assisting the Boston Transportation Department (BTD) with development of a city-wide bicycle network plan and providing on-call bicycle facility design.
Assignments include:
- Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street - removed a travel lane on each street to provide space for a bicycle lane.
- Lake Street, Chestnut Hill Avenue, Albany Street, Centre Street, and Ruggles Street - Prepared pavement marking and signing plans for bicycle accomodations.
- Intersection of Washington Street and Talbot Avenue - Provided a bicycle lane on the westbound approach of Washington Street by removing a travel lane.
- Commercial Street - Completed an analysis to provide bike lanes.
- Boylston Street and Massachusetts Avenue - Completed an analysis to provide bike lanes.
- Intersection of Lincoln Street, Essex Street, and Surface Artery Southbound - Recommended changes to make it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross.
