Jane Howard, Founding Principal, Board Chairman

An urban specialist, Jane leads the firm's efforts on transportation planning projects in a variety of market sectors and with HSH's municipal, state, and federal clients. Jane is intimately familiar with the regulatory review that engineering and planning projects endure. She has long been an ardent advocate for transit-oriented development and the use of alternative transportation modes. A "Complete Streets" enthusiast, Jane plans streets that are: green, multi-modal, and smart. Tom Stokes, P.E.,Chief Executive Officer

Tom, HSH's Chief Operating Officer, also serves as Chief Engineer for the firm. Tom's forte is truly understanding the balance of public and private sectors and how they can work together to get things done. Because he has worked for both public- and private-sector clients, he understands the critical issues associated with new projects, particularly much-needed roadway improvements. He has directed municipal roadway, planning, and development projects in a number of Massachusetts communities including Acton, Boston, Bridgewater, Braintree, Framingham, Newbury, Plymouth, Quincy, Sandwich, and Weymouth. Prior to joining HSH, Tom served as a MassDOT (then MassHighway) Project Manager, where he managed a variety of infrastructure projects in and around Boston. Email Tom

Bob Dankese, Chief Financial Officer

In his position as Chief Financial Officer, Bob is responsible for the overall financial health of HSH. Since his arrival in 1997 from another civil engineering firm, he has helped HSH show strong revenue and profit growth. His strengths include awareness and analysis of key financial ratios and the ability to take corrective action and make projections. Email Bob

Arnie Bloch, Ph.D., Principal

As founder of HSH's New York Office, Arnie has grown HSH's overall transportation planning, public involvement, and training expertise and is a leading public involvement practitioner. With a Ph.D. in transportation, Arnie has led a variety of projects for transportation agencies at the federal, state, regional, and local levels, as well as private entities, including colleges and medical complexes. Nationally recognized, Arnie is an experienced trainer with nearly 15 years of teaching and curriculum development experience with adult learners and clients such as the National Transit Institute, the City University of New York, and several state and regional agencies. Guy D. Busa Jr., Principal

Guy serves as a strategic advisor on a variety of transportation planning and engineering projects at HSH, carrying out technical analyses and overseeing multi-disciplinary design teams, coordinating activities with local and state agencies, and addressing community concerns. He also manages HSH's high profile transportation operations analyses and transportation policy studies, including traffic impact studies and roadway improvement projects. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. in Transportation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Guy also serves on several advisory committees appointed by Mayor Menino including the City's Complete Streets Advisory Committee. In this role, Guy reinforces that thoughtful development and transportation planning accompanied by public infrastructure improvements build strong and successful business districts which then make great livable neighborhoods. David Matton, Principal & Director of Traffic Engineering

David offers over 25 years of experience helping federal, state, and municipal clients solve complex traffic challenges. David specializes in traffic signal design and optimization and has overseen the design, optimization, and/or coordination of nearly 300 traffic signals across the City of Boston. After graduating from UMass Dartmouth, David was a Transportation Engineer for the Connecticut Department of Transportation. David currently serves as Treasurer for Intelligent Transportation Society of Massachusetts (ITS Massachusetts) and is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the American Public Works Association. Keri Pyke, P.E., PTOE, Principal & Director of Transportation Planning

A "Complete Streets" practitioner, Keri has over 18 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning and is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut, a nationally certified PTOE. Keri is familiar with the many varied aspects of traffic engineering and multi-modal transportation planning, including traffic and parking analysis, traffic signal design, safety planning and analysis, neighborhood and site transportation planning studies, and traffic calming planning, design, and implementation. Maura Fitzpatrick, Director of New York Office

As Director of HSH's New York City Office, Maura manages large-scale public involvement projects and assists HSH agency clients with facilitating organizational issues to foster consensus. Among her strengths is her ability to conceive of creative, strategic solutions swiftly while managing the details necessary to implement these solutions, efficiently and within budget. Maura excels at managing multi-disciplinary teams, particularly facilitating team dialogue to accelerate project delivery. Email Maura

Ted Brovitz, Manager of Community Planning & Design

Ted has 25 years of award-winning public and private sector experience and is well known in the region for community planning and design. He has spearheaded dozens of community master plans, downtown revitalization and redevelopment plans, economic development and marketing strategies, land use regulations and design guidelines, and corridor plans throughout New England and New York as well as in Florida and in Idaho. Ted is also a frequent speaker on community planning, downtown revitalization, and innovative land-use regulations including form-based code. Email Ted
